English Didactics Week XVII

Hello, I hope you are doing great! This week we learned about the receptive skills, this is the process in which the language is not being produced, but rather being received and understood. With this, reading and listening comprehension skills are the most relevant since this is the way in which you get to perceive a language or any topic.  - Have a good one!

English Didactics Week XVI

Finally. Good news, online classes are not part of my day to day anymore! Going back to college feels great, it's nice to see everybody's face again. Come on, it was just two weeks haha And well, this week we learned something really important, and that is to teach speaking and writing, whenever you are learning a new language these two are the most complicated to master, eventually you'll achieve it, however, the way in which the teacher teaches has a lot to do.  Speaking is improved by practicing, so talking to your classmates or anyone is really important, as long as the conversation is in the "target language", talking about random things or just gossiping can help a lot. However, there are some facts that we need to pay attention to. English Didactics Week XV

Online classes continue, I do not like this, but it is what it is. We kept learning a lot. This week we learned about teaching and also of one of my worst enemies, yes, I am talking about grammar. As a probably future teacher I have to master teaching and grammar really good, so that's what I had the opportunity to learn about in this week.  Mainly focused in two approaches, learning inductively and deductively. It's really nice to know this kind of information, it is also important. That was it for the first session.  ----------------------------------------------- The second session took place also in a very calm a welcoming place, zoom. We kept learning more interesting facts about how to teach grammar, it is nice to find out that grammar can be taught or learned in a little less stressing way. The types of input the teacher uses are key, some materials that are not even meant for teaching purposes can be used, and that could help a student learn better.

English Didactics Week XIV

Hello!  This week something unexpected happened, issues at "Los Chorros" and due to that we returned to COVID times, that means online classes, personally I do not like to study in a virtual environment, but it is what it is.  We learned about teachers! There are various roles for a teacher, and this will depend on how does the teacher perceives his/her students, since some students can get to learn better in one way or another. The roles a teacher can play are the following:  Controller   Prompter Participant Resource Tutor I think I could adapt easily to any of these roles, I'll get to find out someday!  - Have a good one!

Hello!  This week we had the opportunity to know more about our classmates, we were talking with some of them about certain things using some phrases that the professor provided us with beforehand. It was a really interesting activity, we learned some new things about our classmates.  The next class we were in the Lab, whenever we have the opportunity to have our classes there it is way better because of the heat. In this class, we studied about ourselves by sharing a short description about us as learners. On the other hand something really interesting is that it does not matter if the student is an adult, teenager or a child, they are always seeking for approval from the teacher.  - Have a good one!
